Garden paths can give your property a unique and beautiful look. You have a variety of paths to choose from and gain inspiration from. Here you will learn a few ideas that could complete your garden or inspire you to create something truly remarkable.

Stepping Stones

Natural stepping stones can be a bit pricey, but they do make stunning garden paths. Instead of breaking the bank buying natural stones, you can make them yourself with some concrete and frames. Build frames out of wood, landscaping bordering plastic, or flexible metal bands. Create different shapes and sizes, use some concrete stain and carve the nooks and crannies into the surface to make the stones look as natural as those found out in the wild.

Once you have your stepping stones made and placed, you have several options to finish the project. Consider planting some thyme to grow between the stones or maybe some type of moss. This will finish the project while controlling the water run-off in the area.

Stairway to Heaven

If you have even the slightest hill-side to finish, consider installing some stairs. If you start with wide stairs at the base of the hill and curve the path while narrowing the width of the stairs as it goes up the hill, you will create the illusion that the stairs climb much further than they actually do.

To create a really dramatic effect, use concrete edged stairs filled with loose gravel or decomposed granite. The concrete will keep everything in position and provide you with the sturdy stairs you need while the gravel or granite softens the appearance.

Water Crossing

Having a water feature or stream included in your landscape design can create a problem of having to go around it to get to where you want to go. But, you can install some pillars built into it with pavers on top of them instead. This type of path will withstand the abuse of water and ice and will give you a unique look for your garden. Just make sure to texturize the top of the pavers to ensure that you have traction when walking across a wet surface.

You have a number of options to choose from. If you are unsure of what you can and should do for your garden, talk with a local contractor like Masterlink Concrete Pumping to learn about the possibilities that will give you a unique and stylish finish.
